I come from the city of Boston, the home of the bean and the cod, where Cabots speak only to Lowells and the Lowells speak only to God.
By Samuel C Bushnell 1852-1930 [Note: Site of the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party.
Note: Boston is often called “the Hub” for “Hub of the Universe,” or “Beantown” after Boston baked beans.] Another attribute:John Collins Bossidy (1860–1928) was an American graduate of Holy Cross College who, at a 1910 dinner, offered a toast famously poking fun at Boston's "Brahmins": And this is good old Boston, The home of the bean and the cod. Where the Lowells talk only to Cabots, And the Cabots talk only to God. A toast given at Holy Cross College alumni dinner in 1910. McPhee, John. Giving Good Weight. p. 163.and it gets worse
