The BBC linkFor a while now Adobe has not done Flash updates for Linux on Firefox. Story hereI ripped Flash from my Linux/Ubuntu/Firefox system as I was pestered with messages to update which I could not because no updates were available. Updates for Chromium exist on Firefox (apparently) and can be adapted for Firefox but I got tired of the hassel. The solution involves installing two add-ons for Firefox (available in the Firefox Add-ons library). Here are the two links as well: Video without FlashHTML 5 Player for YouTubeNote that to use HTML 5 on YouTube you have to tell YouTube after the Firefox Add-Ons installation. Perhaps one can even get by without the HTML 5 Add-On. Here is that link. There are a few sites still screaming for Flash, but by and large, I get by.
