Soon, one will have to apologise for being white whenever one receives an award of any kind.
Or maybe the concept of merit will just be banished altogether. That would be more to the point, and probably ideologically more satisfying anyway.

Her entire rant is permeated by racism. Firstly, she says, there are no black nominees because the white members are racist. This is already a racist perspective on her part. Affirmative action is pervasive and the black actors must really suck not to make the list. In the movie business particularly, blackness, otherness are assets. ... I’ve discussed men’s role in creating this mess before, but it’s everywhere now and it’s permeated every part of our culture. If you just landed here from outer space, you’d assume cis white scum like DiPaolo are functionally retarded and Western society is run by white women, black men, and a smattering of gays. We’ve gone from providing women and minorities with inspiring role models to turning them all into infallible gods who are constantly held back by bumbling white men.
Homer Simpson is borderline retarded, but his daughter Lisa deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Peter Griffin and Al Bundy are equally useless (outside of the part where they work their fingers to the bone to provide for a bunch of ingrates). When my kids turn on cartoons all I see is girls in lab coats and blacks with glasses solving complex problems while some white boy stumbles in and blurts out, “DUH!”
Adult programming is the same. Is there a head of surgery on TV who isn’t black? Sir Lancelot is now black. The Ghostbusters are women. Thor is black. Mad Max is a woman. Spider-Man is black. Ocean’s 11 is all women. Meat Loaf is gay. The Honeymooners are black. James Bond is black or maybe he’ll be gay. At the beginning of the Annie reboot where we discover she’s now black, she performs for her classmates and tells them welfare-state pioneer FDR was the greatest president ever because he brought us the New Deal. Later in the movie, we discover Annie can’t read. moreThe proposed solution is even more racist: Load the membership with blacks and, lo behold, they vote for black actors. According to which norms? That the actors are better than the whites or because the blacks will vote on the basis of race? Yea sure, blacks will disregard race (unlike the racists whites) and vote on the basis of merit. At the very least a very racist view of whites and a racist view of the angel factor in blacks (which makes them better than whites). One can tie oneself in knots when it comes to racism. For example, is this racist or not? bored4ln

The last movie that I realy enjoyed was Gladiator I find that the stories bore me, but I'll readily admit that I am not in the target audience for Star Wars, Batman, Superman and the gay/black themes.

Taki... You see, the Oscars are supposed to “reflect America.” Didn’t you know that? Well, apparently it’s true. “You don’t reflect America, your industry doesn’t reflect America,” a coalition of minority activists bellowed last week. Will Smith agreed, telling Good Morning America in a live satellite hookup from his solid-gold mansion under the sea that the Oscars should “reflect” American “beauty.” Al Sharpton, who’s normally so wary of bandwagons, uncharacteristically raised his voice in support, claiming that the Oscars don’t “reflect modern America.” And at a recent event in L.A., actor David Oyelowo claimed that the Motion Picture Academy “doesn’t reflect this nation.” Wait…Oyelowo is a Nigerian from England (just like 2013 Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor). Exactly what “nation” is he referring to? The fact is, over the past 30 years, over one third of Best Actor Oscar winners have been foreign. Over one third of Best Actress winners have been foreign. If the point of the Oscars is to “reflect America,” why has there been no outcry over the disproportionate number of non-Americans who win? I don’t know about you, but I don’t exactly swell with USA pride when I see Brits, Canadians, and Australians taking home our precious statuettes, mooching our swag bags, and stealing jobs from great American actors like Eric Roberts (I mean, really, the man did forty-six movies in 2015, and not one single nomination? Not even for The Human Centipede 3?). Someone call Trump—I think I have the topic of his next press conference. ...
