THE Presidency had agreed to meet next month an Afrikaner group seeking self-determination to establish its own state within South Africa, the group leaders said on Wednesday.
The Boer-Afrikaner Volksraad postponed a planned North Gauteng High Court application when the office of the state attorney advised it to meet the "government at the highest level", it said. It would meet either President Jacob Zuma or Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Section 235 of the constitution allows for the self-determination of South Africans, a community or cultural group within a territory in South Africa determined by national legislation.
