I wonder whether Trump did not jump the gun here.
It is curious that this incident happened almost immediately after Trump declared that he would not try and topple Assad (amongst others)
The Russians insist that the toxic gas is a result of rebel activities.Use of Chemical Weapons in Syria's Idlib 'Monstrous Crime' - Kremlin... Only terrorists and opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad could have benefited from the Idlib chemical attack as the Syrian army is winning in all directions, Peskov noted. ... Peskov stressed that "it is impossible to draw conclusions" casting the blame on Damascus in the attack in Khan Shaykhun before an investigation is conducted ... The website this report comes from is Sputnik International.
Some caution should be exercised, but I find the site a useful balance to western media.

If it is false flag, it is a conspiracy by the entire West and Israel. The only people pushing this line are the Russians. It should be a simple exercise to confirm whether the victims are suffering from sarin poisoning. I don't even get the impression that the Russians are denying the poisoning (unlike Savage). They just point fingers in a different direction.

Savage is not denying any poisoning, he claims that going by the evidence it can not be sarin gas. Everybody agrees there was an airstrike by Syria, and the "conspiracy theorists" only claim that the bombs didn't carry the chemicals but is was brought to the terrorist "stronghold/base/whatever" by either ISIS or some other terrorist organisation. Remember 2013?

Remember 2013? Yes, I think the (very feasible, in my opinion) contention is that nerve gas was released by ISIS or whomever at, or soon after, the airstrike, in order to set up exactly the outcome it has produced. In that case, it doesn't even matter if it was Sarin or anything else - it may as well have been Sarin. The reason why I think this is feasible or even probable is that neither Assad nor the Russians stood to gain anything obvious from using gas. For ISIS, however, it is Christmas.

If what happened was manipulated by forces other than Syria, the intelligence services of everybody except the Russians are shot. As for the motive: Assad has done it before.

The 2013 attack was never solved conclusively. And even if Assad did it once, only a donkey bumps its head twice. And Assad is everything but stupid. Other parties have much more to gain from a Syria chemical attack than Syria.

Other parties have much more to gain from a Syria chemical attack than Syria. Taki: The editors of VDARE tweeted, “Sixteen years after September 11, we’re Al-Qaeda’s air force.”
