Of course, it is a VERY good song.
I have yet to understand how it happened that the creative artists abandoned their obvious primacy to the performing artists. In classical music, the composer is understood to be paramount - performers render an interpretation of the composer's creation. The primary creator is and will always be the composer. I fail to see how this has changed. The composer in this case is a fellow by the name of Phil Hanseroth, whom nobody has ever heard of.
I prefer the performance of the South African girl. It has a rawness which I think fits perfectly with the overall narrative.
Brandi Carlile is also very good, but compared to my views about Anais, obviously too polished in terms of what I perceive the optimum performance to be.
