Kaboemmielies is Afrikaans for popcorn. Kaboem is slang for explosion and mielies is corn. Afrikaans is a language spoken in South Africa. It is based on Dutch and Flemish, with some German, French and other afican languages like Zulu mixed in. SA was a Dutch Colony and Namibia was a German Colony. People also came from France during the French Revolution, thus the cosmopolitan mix making up the roots of our nation.
