ANC favours scrapping TV licences Now the the thing is this household levy. It means that you are paying whether you have a TV or not and whether you watch the cr@p they transmit or not. I imagine that they will try and recover the levy via SARS (or municipal taxes and levies). That immediately implies that only people who submit income tax returns or qualify for taxation are in the cross hairs Then, you can be sure, some viewers are more equal than others. This means certain areas will not pay and certain income groups will not pay and certain race groups will not pay. As always, whites will be paying for the viewing of other race groups (assuming that anybody watches that garbage - my garden engineer does not, but he will not be paying anyway). The thing is, it is not an essential commodity like water, food or even electricity. Perhaps the country cannot afford TV for all and the holy cow (the SABC) should be slaughtered (wound up) rather than imposing another burden on whites. TV technology is yesterday's story anyway and the only thing that matters is computer access.
