Determining the installed software on an Ubuntu 22.04 systemFinding the manually installed applications has some practical utility: For example, replacing the applications you often use after having reinstalled your OS . There are a number of ways to get a list but many spew out every dependency as well, whether installed manually or automatically. A good clean list of installed software (the button is at the top of the resulting page) can be found on the Ubuntu software store - with one problem: It is not easy to print (or take a screenshot of) that list for reference purposes. Even the solution I suggest below entails having to take a screenshot first. The following link has a number of suggestions, but the one I prefer is no 6 by RubenLaguna (shown below). Paste the script (in bold) below into a terminal and take a screenshot of the result – which can even be printed should you wish.
