Amazing how many high profile people have died over the years in plane crashes. I guess one could start with Dag Hammarskjöld

The thing is that Prigozhin could not possibly not have known that Putin will kill him if at all possible.
And yet, he freely moved around in Russia and he made this flight (and others) with total disregard of all the associated dangers he surely must've known about.
So I strongly suspect that Prigozhin believed that he had mechanisms in place that would make it impossible for Putin to kill him - that the consequences of that would be so painful for Putin that he would not dare. So I don't think that the story ends here - these countermeasures that Prigozhin surely had set up to cause Putin great pain still needs to play out. Could take a month or two, I suppose.

Quite a coincidence that both the Wagner no 1 & 2 were killed. One assumes that Wagner is rather leaderless now.

Quite a coincidence that both the Wagner no 1 & 2 were killed. One assumes that Wagner is rather leaderless now. Maybe from a company-executive point of view. So that is perhaps about generating revenue, making policy, overseeing logistics, legal stuff, sucking up to the chief, that kind of thing. But from a military point of view: Prigozhin's leadership role was basically zero. He'd sometimes put on a uniform and strut around a bit, but that was just for show. The man was a hotdog salesman. Wagner's military leadership comes from within. But anyway, I don't think that Prigozhin's revenge on Putin will come from the military at all. I think more in line of Prigozhin-sleepers who are almost certainly infiltrated into Putin's security, intelligence structures, formal Russian army, all of the Siloviks etc. As well as agreements and leverages that are probably in place with several Russian oligarchs. As I said, I believe that that must be so substantial that it made Prigozhin feel safe, even in Russia.
