Muslims and Christians Don’t Worship the Same God

I had the idea to read the Koran in order to understand what on earth Muslims are saying about Islam.

So far, I haven’t made it past the first and second ‘Suras’. It is not just that it is that ludicrous – it is also that boring.

The claim is that the Koran was dictated to Muhammad (PBOH), ala the way God dictated the Pentateuch to Moses. If that is true, then Allah must’ve been mad, or drunk at the time.

The second Surah (The Cow) is truly all-encompassing – a ramblingly incoherent text ranging from an asinine proof that it is truly the Word of God, to a description of the purified women waiting to be allocated as wives to true believers in Paradise. (Apparently a purified woman does not pee, shit or bleed, or get too wet during orgasm). Mixed in with when it is a good idea to kill Christians and Jews, and how to calculate interest on loans.

It is inconceivable that people can find it possible to talk of an ‘Islamic Scholar’ – it must be the quintessential oxymoron.

Anyway, there is no comparison between the Christian God and Allah. There is not even a comparison between the Jewish God and Allah. The Jewish God is, at least, rational.

Also, the entire point of Christ in Christianity is that he apparently repealed all of the Mosaic Law, in favour of love, faith and good manners, which is diametrically opposed to Islam, which endorses Mosaic Law with a vengeance.

(Christ never found justification for- or commanded the killing of anyone. According to Mohammed, God told him to exterminate almost everybody).
