Organic fruit production almost non-existent in South Africa My knowledge about this centers around wine production. While not organic, wine producers are virtually compelled by the "voluntary" IPW system to follow the directives and be audited. It has a heavy sustainability emphasis and a friendly environment policy. It relies on scientific studies for its directives. The organic movement, by contrast, seems supported by (left wing) radicals who believe that God will provide. Of course, many are probably atheists, but they believe that by doing nothing nature will miraculously look after the human species. If you have enough money to burn this is obviously no problem. If you have to make a living in a country where government cannot even look after its own, running an agenda on white privilege, you have a problem with this laissez faire approach to making a living.
