Well, I dunno, maybe he did some valuable work on virology in his youth. One recalls people such as Linus Pauling, who was awarded 2 Nobel prizes and then went mad - believing that vitamin C will prolong your live indefinitely. I don't suppose Dr. Vanden Bossche did Nobel quality work, though.
