The public and small stock farmers are advised that black south-easter associated with possible disruptive rainfall, damaging winds and waves as well as very cold, wet and windy conditions can be expected.
Impact: Difficult driving conditions and flooded roads can contribute to longer travel times. Possibility of major disruptions on major roads. Difficulty in navigation at sea due to very rough and choppy seas. Very cold, wet and windy conditions can lead to loss of livestock and agricultural production.
Instruction: If you need to travel this weekend, be prepared for the worst. Look for safe alternative roads ahead of time in the unlikely event that roads are blocked or flooded. Do not cross fast flowing rivers or streams. Avoid going to the beach and only make use of small vessels in emergency situations. The public and small stock farmers are advised to take the necessary precaution to ensure the safety and health of their animals during very cold, wet and windy days.
