Trump’s wiretapping tweets, the media and reality... You probably heard on the weekend that Donald Trump put out tweets accusing Barack Obama of wiretapping Trump Towers during the campaign. Ever since, the media have been on a full court press to prove Trump wrong. They’ve called it false, they’ve called it baseless, unfounded. They’ve called it outright lies. And while they’ve been doing this, they’ve ignored their own reporting on this very issue. ...

I am wondering what went through Trump's mind when he tweeted about the wire tapping. This was in the early hours of Saturday and it almost sounds as if he had a Damascus moment. I find it hard to believe that it is entirely based on Mark Levin's research. It seems that none of his staff was consulted and the tweets came after a fall-out with Spicer and Bannon. By and large (unintended or not), I think it has given him a breathing space. It may well be that he has hit a jackpot of sorts as I consider it extremely likely that he was under surveillance.
